A mention is when you tag someone in your post caption by using the “@” symbol followed by their username. For example, if you wanted to mention your friend Sophie in a post, you would write “@sophie” in the caption.
In which case use mentions?
There are a few different reasons why you might want to use mention. For example, if you see someone post something that you think is interesting or valuable, you can mention them in order to share it with your followers. This is a great way to help promote good content and build relationships with other users.
You can also use mention for marketing or promotional purposes. For example, if you have a product or service that you want to promote, you can mention it in a post or in a comment. This can be a great way to get people’s attention and generate interest.
Finally, you can also use mention to simply get someone’s attention. For example, if you want to ask a question or start a conversation with someone, mentioning them in a post or comment is a great way to do that. So, there are a few different reasons why you might want to use mention. It’s up to you to decide which one is right for any given situation.
How to add mention(s) to your post(s)?
First, let’s look at what is possible to mention in your posts with Levuro:
Facebook Pages
LinkedIn Pages
Instagram Profiles
Twitter account
YouTube if you have more than 500 subscribers (coming soon!)
Due to API restrictions for third-party tools, it’s not possible to mention a Facebook Profile or Group or a LinkedIn Personal Profile.
Now let’s walk through the steps to create a post with mention(s), and publish it on multiple social media platforms.
1. Select your profiles and create your post
Sign in to Levuro.
Click on the “Add new post” button on the top right and select your profiles. You can connect your Facebook Pages, Instagram Profiles, Twitter Accounts, LinkedIn Company Pages, LinkedIn Personal pages, and YouTube accounts. Click “Next” and create your post by adding media and typing your caption.
2. Customize for each profile and add your mentions
Click on the button “Customize for each profile”, and you can now modify your content for each platform. When you add your mentions for your Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn accounts, start by typing “@” and then the username or the company’s name. A dropdown will appear where you can select the profile to mention.
For Instagram, you will see this dropdown only if you have an Instagram Business account. If you have an Instagram creator or private, you will not see the dropdown, but you can still add a mention by typing the exact username, like “@levuro”.
3. Verify and publish/schedule your post(s)
Click the “Post preview” tab to see what your post will look like. To verify you are mentioning the correct profile, click on your mention (in blue bold). A new tab will open, showing the account you are mentioning.
You can now publish your posts or select a custom publishing date and time for each post.
